I have clumps of marjoram which was late seeding all over the garden – this is too late to flower which means I have some nice fresh leaves which I will make infused oil with. The same for Lemon Balm. I have also a range of other herbs which I am still able to cut fresh – and will probably be able to do so for a little time yet. I am also still picking strawberries and I have a few late ripening raspberries.

The herbs situation in my garden at October 12  is as follows:

Lavender – almost all of it cut

Marigolds – same  -seeds harvested

Marjoram – lots of fresh leaves yet

Sage – this yea’s new planting has not flowered so some nice tender leaves still

Rosemary – Still to trim and so I’ll be drying it later in the month

Borage – just about over – but I’ve not seen any seeds

Brown Fennel – seeds to harvest

Parsley – still fresh to use

Coriander – small number of seeds – not good this year

Comfrey – beginning to die down – ready to put on the compost heap
