The Yarrow in my garden will soon flower (mid June) and given its abundance, I will be collecting it to make a herbal remedy or two. I have clumps of different colours, but the white wild version always wins. I shall dry the herb and then possibly use it for Yarrow Tea infusions if needed, or for a variety of other uses.

A Yarrow infusion is said to be severe colds, being most useful in the commencement of fevers, and in cases of obstructed perspiration. It will induce sweats, that cool the fever from the body and also expels toxins. The infusion is made as usual with 1 oz. of dried herb to 1 pint of boiling water, drunk warm, in half-cupfull doses. It may be sweetened with honey or treacle, or you can add a little Cayenne Pepper.  A decoction of the whole plant is can be employed for bleeding piles, for wounds, chapped skin and rashes and is said to be good for kidney disorders.
