The best way to use the benefits of herbal oils on your face is to use massage to help them become absorbed into the skin. Massage helps stimulate the circulation, helps to drain the lymphatic systems and increases the blood flow, and hence oxygen, to the skin cells. Here’s how to do it, and a brilliant recipe for mature skin.
Poor a little oil into the palm of your hand and then smooth over your face and neck with your fingertips. Then using your finger tips tap your skin lightly working from your forehead down, then up again from the throat. Then using fingers of both hands smooth across your forehead, cheeks and chin and under the chin. To help lymph drainage, use the idle finger of each hand and press along each eyebrow and around the eye socket, then put both fingertips at the inner eye corner and smooth downwards following under the cheekbone. Pinch along the jawline starting with the chin and working outwards.
Recipe for mature skins or giving a boost to tired skins:
Blend 1 fluid oz of wheatgerm oil in a little jar with the contents of 5 evening primrose capsules, and 10 drops of frankincense and 10 drops of geranium. (I also use lavender and sandalwood and sometimes bergamot – mix and match)
