People are now beginning to attune their palates to herb teas, but the potential health benefits of these two herbal infusions can be much greater. I have found these two herbal teas in an old book of my grannie’s, and I think you’ll agree with me that they sound good. I haven’t tried the one with rose leaves, but I’m intrigued as to the taste.
Herb Tea 1 : Balm Tea. (for a cold) Take 12 sprigs of lemon balm, 2 teaspoons of sugar, six cloves and the juice of half a lemon and pour a pint of boiling water on the ingredients and steep covered for half an hour. Then strain and bottle it. It will keep for two days. Take at bed time to sooth a cold or as a pick me up.
Herb Tea 2: 5 ozs of dried rose leaves, 1oz of Rosemary, 2 ozs of Lemon Balm. Mix together – a dessertspoonful is enough for a ½ pint of water. Infuse for a few minutes and drink, with sugar (and milk) as desired.
