Overview of some complementary therapies for Headache and Migraine
By herbalexpert on 1/30/2006 8:48 PM
The exact causes of most headaches are not fully understood, though muscular tension in the shoulders, neck and face can often be a trigger or a sign that a headache is impending. Food allergies are also implicated as triggers. Migraine and some other types of svere headaches are caused by narrowing and widening of blood vessels in the brain. Comfrey ( symphytum officinale) a pretty useful herb
By herbalexpert on 1/29/2006 8:01 PM
Also known as knitbone, Comfrey has been traditionally used in fractures as it encourages bone, cartilage and muscle cells to grow. The root has similar properties and can be used for a range of uses.

Remedies for a cold – there’s so much to help – (1) What about prevention
By herbalexpert on 1/25/2006 8:02 PM
As long as family and domestic herbals have written down herbal recipes to pass on useful knowledge to the next generation, there have been a huge number of suggestions about herbal remedies and self-management to prevent colds, or stave them off at the outset. Since the 1970’s and the publication of the work of Linus Pauling with Vitamin C, this has also been a major tool in cold prevention. More recently Echinacea has been heralded as a preventative for colds.
